The Thresholds Research Center is designed to bring together academic investigators and community providers, consumers, and administrators, to engage in research that leads to meaningful improvements in the lives of individuals with serious mental illness. The Center is devoted to developing and testing cutting edge interventions and innovative service models that are later implemented in real-world settings and evaluated on an ongoing basis.

Center activities focus on several key areas:

  • Technologies and Mental Health
  • Supported Employment/Supported Education
  • Integrated Physical and Mental Health Care
  • Shared Decision Making
  • Performance Improvement
  • Stigma

Center investigators and staff work closely with Thresholds’ executive leadership and clinical programs to facilitate fluid and rapid sharing of information between scientists and practitioners. The collaboration helps shape a research agenda amongst academic partners that reflects the real-world needs and experiences of consumers and clinicians, while ensuring that the Thresholds’ community has access to state-of-the-art treatments, a cadre of expert consultants, and trainers.
