YOUTH & YOUNG ADULT SERVICES

Youth & Young Adult Research

Research and evaluation are central to how Thresholds’ Youth & Young Adult Services improve outcomes for young people with serious mental health needs. Through data-driven evaluation, quality improvement, and community partnerships, we strengthen programs, inform best practices, and ensure our services continuously evolve to meet the needs of transition-age youth.

Using Data to Strengthen Youth & Young Adult Services

Our dedicated interdisciplinary Evaluation, Research & Quality Improvement (ERQ) Team gathers and analyzes data from across YAYAS programs. Using evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement methods, we refine program design, track outcomes, and ensure our services remain effective, responsive, and grounded in real-world impact.

What We Do: Core Research & Quality Improvement Activities

  • Systematic evaluation of YAYAS programs and services
  • Implementation science to guide program adaptations and improvements
  • Development of real-time data tools and dashboards for staff decision-making
  • Literature reviews and expert consultation to stay aligned with best practices
  • Collaboration with universities and external partners on research and knowledge translation

Our team includes Quality Improvement Specialists, Evaluation Specialists, the YAYA Advisory Board Coordinator, young adults with lived experience, and interns, all working together to support innovation and improvement across YAYAS.
